Erika Osmundson, Director of Marketing Communications for AgCareers.comErika Osmundson serves as AgCareers.com’s Director of Marketing Communications and has been with the company for more than 11 years. Erika works in the Ames, Iowa office.

What do you do on a day-to-day basis in your role with AgCareers.com?

It’s different on a day-to-day basis. I do a lot of strategic planning, project work, event planning, writing, and leading the marketing team.

What do you enjoy about working with AgCareers.com?

I definitely love the organization’s mission to help people find jobs in agriculture. And I love that my job does have so much variety. It’s very cliché as well, but I like the people that I work with.

What advice would you give to employers using AgCareers.com for the first time?

I would tell them that while the job board is our largest asset, really explore the other services and offerings that we have like the educational material that we publish, and to take advantage of the networking opportunities that our events provide.

What is one of your favorite memories while working with AgCareers.com?

There are a lot, but my favorite was celebrating 10 years of the Roundtable at the Crystal Bridges Art Museum in Springdale, Arkansas. With the Roundtable being something that’s so near and dear to my heart, it was fun to see it hit that milestone and have everyone there to celebrate.

Erika Osmundson familyIn your spare time, what do you like to do on the weekends?

I love spending time with my two children (pictured to the left with Erika’s husband at an ISU game), and hanging out with family and friends. I’m an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan, and I love to dance.

What’s your favorite snack and name one thing you can’t live without while working?

My favorite snack is Cheez-Its. I can’t live without dual monitors while working, and I like to have music on.

Favorite book & favorite movie?

My favorite book of all time is Goodnight Moon. I would say that because, as an adult, I’m very eclectic. Fictional history is my favorite but I like all sorts of thrillers, romances, and business books. My all-time favorite movie is Dirty Dancing or any other dance movie.
