Q: What do you do on a day-to-day basis?
I work on many different marketing projects that have been assigned to me with different deadlines. I put together the Internship Benchmark Survey and wrote blogs, newsletters, and an employer guide article. I am working with Ashley Collins and Kristine Penning on social media development for AgCareers.com. One of my main responsibilities has been helping prepare material and corresponding with Ag and Food HR Roundtable attendees to promote the conference.
Q: What do you enjoy about working here?
I enjoy the people and variety of work experience I have encountered. AgCareers.com is a very team and family oriented business, where all the coworkers genuinely care about each other. I have really enjoyed getting to know the whole team and feeling so welcomed being a part of it. The variety of projects I have done, have really given me wonderful work experience that I will be able to take with me in the future.
Q: What is one of your favorite memories working at AgCareers.com?
Though I have only been here for 11 weeks, I have made many great memories working at AgCareers.com. My favorite so far is definitely attending the World Pork Expo 2015 with Kristine Penning, Erika Osmundson and Eric Spell. The expo was early into my internship so I was a great opportunity to get to know coworkers better and experience an industry that is new to me. I learned so much about swine from attending, met many people, promoted AgCareers.com at the booth and got to spend time with President Eric Spell, which was great because he works out of the North Carolina office.
Q: In your spare time, what do you like to do on the weekends?
I like to go to the beach and spend time with my family and friends when I am back home in Florida. While in the Midwest this summer, I have enjoyed exploring the area and cities, going to my roommate’s lake house, attending political events and relaxing by the pool. Most weekends in the Midwest I have traveled to different places to make sure I get as much as I can out of living in the Midwest for the first time.
Q: What’s your favorite snack and name one item you can’t live without while working?
My favorite snack is Cheez-Its Party Mix, and I cannot live without coffee and CNN radio while working!
