What do you do on a day-to-day basis in your role with AgCareers.com?
I work with new registrants, and I help with current customers’ maintenance with their current job postings that are live. I also work with dormant accounts to see if they’re interested in posting with us again and some lead sourcing.
What do you enjoy about working with AgCareers.com?
I didn’t grow up in agriculture, so it’s interesting to learn more about all the different aspects. Working here helps you learn about the different companies and industry sectors as well as the jobs in the industry. I like AgCareers.com for trying to link those people to those jobs. I also like who I work with. It’s a great company; a friendly, family environment.
What advice would you give to employers using AgCareers.com for the first time?
I try to stress to them to use the resume database. I do have employers that may not necessarily have a candidate come to the posting that fits, but they search the database and find one. I also ask them to make sure to tell job seekers about their company. Unless you’re a big name brand, a lot of job seekers may not know who you are. Let them know about the room you have for growth.
What is one of your favorite memories while working with AgCareers.com?
I think one of my favorite things I’ve done is going to the Roundtable. The sales team takes turns going, and for us to try to pitch the Roundtable to our customers, it’s a great experience to go and attend it. I knew what I was selling then, and it was great to meet a lot of my customers face to face. That interaction is very valuable.
In your spare time, what do you like to do on the weekends?
Besides raising a 12-year-old and a 12-month-old, I like to go to the lake and beach in the summer and spring, I like to water ski. I’m also a big runner: I like to run 5k’s, 10k’s and before having my last baby, I did my first half marathon and hope to do another one! I’m an East Carolina graduate, and we have season tickets to the football games in the fall. In winter, we just stay inside and wait for it to pass.
What’s your favorite snack and name one thing you can’t live without while working?
I like candy. I like Skittles or Sweet Tarts, and I like Diet Coke too. I have to have my Yeti water bottle. It goes with me everywhere.
Favorite book & favorite movie?
The Help was a really good book. My favorite movies are musicals; The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins are my go-to’s. I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s too.
