Cynthia Cole is originally from North Carolina and currently works as an Account Manager for AgCareers.com, operating out of California. Before reopening the California office and joining the AgCareers.com team in 2012, she owned a boutique executive recruiting firm.

Cynthia will be returning to North Carolina in the following months to join the AgCareers.com Corporate office.

Q: What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

A: As an Account Manager, I currently manage job board sales and partnership programs for the Western US region, Australia, and New Zealand. Once I relocate to the corporate office, I will be transitioning to the Eastern US Account Manager role. Every day I help agribusinesses connect with the talent they are seeking. I do that mainly by assisting them with utilizing our job board and introducing them to other services we offer. We recently brought in an associate to help us grow our business in Australia and New Zealand. I have been involved in locating and training her, and now guide the projects that she works on.

Q: What do you enjoy about working at AgCareers.com?

A: I really enjoy the diversity of the role. I can be in the office talking to employers and helping them access our services and products they may need, while the very next day I could be talking to students about opportunities available in the agriculture industry. The same evening, I could have dinner with clients, then maybe the next day attend an expo where I talk to current and potential clients. I also am able to do webinars and write for our newsletter and new blog. I mostly love working for AgCareers.com because they value their employees and life. It is a very family oriented company.

Q: What advice would you give to job seekers using AgCareers.com for the first time?

A: Be sure to register as a Jobseeker if you are actively looking for a job. Make sure your resume contains keywords for the job you are looking for. Also, read the newsletter articles that are archived on the website, there is good information relevant to the job search. And of course, read the new blog posts!

Q: What is one of your favorite memories working at Agcareers.com?

A: My favorite memory I have while working with AgCareers.com has got to be while attending one of our annual team retreats.  Last year’s retreat took place in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  On our last night there we went out for karaoke.  I joined two team members, one being my boss, on the stage for an epic rendition of “Love Shack” by The B-52’s.  It was, without a doubt, a memorable night!

Q: In your spare time, what do you like to do on the weekends?

A: I enjoy going to the beach. I also love to cook and spend time with my family. Living in California, we are surrounded by wine country. I love to do wine tasting; my favorite thing to do is finding new wineries. When we go to the beach we always passed the wineries and then we decided to go. Now, I love to explore, learn and hear the stories about how the wine is made.

Q: What’s your favorite snack and name one item you can’t live without while working?

A: My favorite snack is popcorn and I can’t live without Pandora while working.
