Q: What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

Day-to-day, I work with employers and Partnership clients across Eastern Canada, a region that stretches from Manitoba to the Eastern shore. I help clients get the most out of their job postings on the site and ensure that the postings are receiving ample job seeker traffic. Additionally, I educate our clients about the many other resources available on the site.

Q: What do you enjoy about working here?

I love the variety this job offers; so much of what we do is at the computer, but it is exciting to go to career fairs and trade shows. I love talking to exhibitors and learning how some of them found their job on Meeting successful job seekers is probably the most rewarding aspect for me.

Q: What advice would you give to Employers using for the first time?

I would first tell them to take a few moments to familiarize themselves with the website. We are much more than a job board. I always make employers aware of our resume database, if their package includes access. There are also tons of other resources on how to write effective job postings and tips on how to enhance each job posting. There is a lot more they can see and do on the site.

Q: What is one of your favorite memories working at

I don’t have a particular favorite memory, but I always look forward to our retreats. As I mentioned before, so much of our work is done virtually, therefore I may go a year without speaking to a coworker via the phone, and so having a conversation face to face is great. I think that is when you really get to know people’s personalities and who they are.

FishQ: In your spare time, what do you like to do on the weekends?

We live in the country, so we like to do a lot outside. I used to work on a golf course so I love mowing the grass and doing other activities outdoors. We spend a lot of time cutting firewood for the winter. We don’t have a furnace, so in the Canadian winters all our heat comes from a wood stove. We actually cut our own trees and split the wood and store it for the winter. We also enjoy going to the cottage to fish.

Q: What’s your favorite snack and name one item you can’t live without while working?

I can’t live without coffee. I have multiple cups of coffee a day. My favorite snack is a SmartPop.
